PHOTO OP INFORMATION |
The information contained within this page will help you make the most of your photo op experience. Please be sure to read the entire page, especially if you are unfamiliar with the Celeb Photo Ops photo op process or if you have not had photo ops with us in the past.
What a photo op is and what it isn’t.
A photo op is a photo taken with you and the celebrity guest or guests you have purchased a ticket for. The photo is taken under ideal lighting conditions and professional photo equipment. We then print a high quality 8×10″ of the photo on dye-sublimation photo printers. Your photo is ready in around a minute after the photo has been taken with our “print it in a minute” technology.
To avoid confusion, a photo op is not a meet and greet.
Please understand that a photo op is not a meet and greet, it is a rapidly moving process. It is important you listen for prompts from the line attendants and the photographer to ensure you get the best photo possible.
Photo Op Tickets
You will be required to show your QR code for your photo ops to be scanned as you enter the Photo Op booth, or have your RFID wrist band at the ready (provided you have attached your photo op purchased to it). You may print your photo op QR codes or have them available to scan on your mobile device.
Obtaining your QR codes is simple! Open your confirmation email you received when you purchased your tickets and click the link that says “View This Order Online”.
The Photo Op Schedule
The photo op schedule will be available here
Download the Planet Comicon Kansas City Mobile App to get extras like panel reminders and on-site updates during the event!
Day Specific tickets and Session designations (Saturday Session 1, Friday Session 2, Etc).
Tickets are sold on a day specific and session specific basis. Your tickets must be used on the days and session designated in the ticket title.
Session designations (I.E> Kiefer Sutherland Photo Op – Saturday Session 1) means this is usable during Kiefer’s scheduled Session 1 photo op time on Saturday. You can easily see these sessions listed on the photo op schedule for quick reference. Please try and be aware of the session you have chosen and only come at the time designated for your photo op group. If you have a Session 3 photo op ticket, please do not show up for the Session 1 time, it will only slow the process, increasing wait times for everyone.
Having the sessions set up in advance will also assist you when purchasing more photo ops, giving you the ability to know what time the op will be prior to purchasing and whether or not you feel you can fit it in your itinerary!
You can see sessions for your tickets, visit your online confirmation for your photo op order. Open your confirmation email and click/tap the “View Order Online” button in your confirmation email to open your online confirmation page.
Photo Op Vouchers
Photo op vouchers must be used online and cannot be redeemed at that sales desk.
Session 1 photo ops for various guests are not all at the same time, however some session 1 ops for various guests may overlap. For example, a “Kiefer Sutherland Photo Op – Saturday Session 1” will not necessarily be scheduled at the same time as a “Ryan Hurst Photo Op – Saturday Session 1”.
Clashing Photo Op Times
Typically as a general rule, you will need to allow 10-15 minutes between photo ops. If you have two photo ops at the exact same time, we do suggest moving one of those photo ops to another day or session using the swap feature on GrowTix (see section on Upgrades and Swapping). If you’re unable to swap or there are no other times that fit in your schedule, please contact us for further assistance.
Swapping and Upgrading
After your ticket purchase you may swap for another ticket of equal value or upgrade your ticket to a different ticket. Simply visit the “View Order Online” button in your confirmation email to open your online confirmation page. From there you will be offered options to print your tickets, swap your tickets or upgrade your tickets. Here is a link to a video to assist you.
Keep in mind that once you have upgraded or swapped your ticket, the original ticket is no longer valid.
How many fans can be in one photo with one ticket?
For each ticket purchased you may have four total fans in the photo. If you would like to have more than four fans, additional ticket purchases will be required. I.E. If you would like 5 to a maximum of 8 fans, 2 total photo op tickets must be purchased and used for that photo.
Photo Op Queue
The queue for a specific photo op will open approximately 30 minutes prior to the start time of the photo op. To avoid congestion at the queue entrance, we ask that you DO NOT arrive any earlier than 30 minutes prior to the start time of your photo op. We have designed the sessions to ensure you have the least possible wait time for your photo op and if you arrive before the 30 minute mark, it is unnecessarily adding to your wait time. This causes congestion and confusion at the queue entrance, which leads to other fans to missing their photo ops, an inability for our staff to queue fans for currently open queues.
We have a television located at the entrance to the queue. On this television you will find queue open times and queue lines that are open to currently queueing photo ops. If there is a line number shown on the television, it means the queue is open for that photo op. Simply proceed to the displayed line number within the queue area (numbers are located on the floor). If your queue is not open yet, please go enjoy the other great things at event and come back at the time shown.
Often times the photo op queue area will fill up entirely, please stay within your assigned line space. If you leave the lines for any reason, we cannot guarantee your place back in line. Only ticketed attendees or those in the photo with them are allowed in the queue area. Parents of underage children may wait in line with them as well. If you have special needs or are caring for a special needs fan, please speak with our line staff before entering the queue area.
VIP Pass holders
VIP pass holders be sure to check the monitor at the queue entrance. You will see specific queue lines set up for VIPs and GAs. Please be sure you proceed to the VIP lines for your photo ops.
Photo Op Booth
Prior to entering the photo op booth, please have your photo op QR out and ready to be scanned. Have all backpacks, purses, jackets, lanyards or any items you do not want in the photo off and ready to placed in one the bins provided outside. As you enter the booth you will need to turn in your photo op ticket and inform the attendant how many fans are in your photo.
You will then step up when you hear the “next” prompt to do so, you will also be given a “ready” prompt before the photographer fires the shot. Please listen for these prompts so you get the best photo possible.
Keep in mind, the op booth is often loud. Many of the guests enjoy to have music playing during their op, therefor our staff will also have to be loud. Please do not think that the staff is yelling at you, they are simply speaking loudly for you to be sure and hear them and understand what is going on. We want to try and get the best photo possible of you, therefor we need to be sure you hear us and know what is going on.
